In the United States, the new 2023 Tesla Model Y electric crossover SUV offers two trims: Long Range and Performance. The 2023 Model Y Long Range has a starting price of $65,990, while the Performance trim starts at $69,990. So, if you aim to go fully loaded with the Model Y, then you’ll need to choose the Performance trim.

What does the Model Y Performance trim offer? For the higher cost, what do you get? As the name implies, the Performance trim is the top-performing vehicle in the Model Y lineup. It comes equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which delivers an output of 456 horsepower and 471 lb-ft of torque.

The 2023 Model Y Performance is also very fast. It has a top speed of 155 mph and accelerates from 0-60 mph in only 3.5 seconds. For driving range, it can travel up to an estimated 303 miles on a full charge. Additionally, the Model Y Performance has some added performance features to enhance the driving dynamics. This includes a lowered suspension, performance brakes, 21’’ Überturbine wheels, and aluminum alloy pedals.

Furthermore, the cabin of the Model Y Performance has a wide range of premium features and technologies. This includes custom driver profiles, a 13-speaker audio system, a heated steering wheel, heated seats, a tinted glass roof, a wireless charger, and an air filtration system.

Also, the Model Y Performance offers many safety-enhancing driving assistance technologies. Examples include blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane departure avoidance and correction, front and side collision warning, and Sentry Mode. Additionally, the EV has a cabin overheat protection feature.

Add options and accessories to the 2023 Model Y Performance trim

Now, let’s go over the fully loaded aspects of the new 2023 Tesla Model Y crossover EV. To do this, you can add feature options and accessories to the Performance trim. These cost extra. First, choose the color options for the exterior and interior. The Model Y offers premium colors. The most expensive one for the exterior is Red Multi-Coat, which adds $2,000 to the price. And for the interior, the black and white color scheme costs $1,000.

Do you have towing needs? Get the towing hitch ($1,000) with a Class 2 steel tow bar, which enables the Model Y to tow up to 3,500 pounds. With the Advanced Autopilot ($6,000), the Model Y has Autopark, Summon, Smart Summon, Auto Lane Change, and Navigate on Autopilot. The electric crossover SUV also offers the controversially-named Full Self-Driving System (FSD), which adds $15,000 to the price. Additionally, you can get charging accessories for the Model Y: a mobile connector ($230) and a wall connector ($400).

When you buy the Performance trim and get the most expensive options and accessories, a fully loaded new 2023 Tesla Model Y costs around $90,000.

Is a fully loaded new 2023 Tesla Model Y worth the extra cost?

Should you get a fully loaded new 2023 Tesla Model Y electric crossover SUV? Is the Performance trim, along with the added options and accessories — worth the extra cost? The approximate $90,000 price for a fully loaded Model Y is a considerable amount of money to pay for a crossover SUV. However, if you don’t have much in the way of budget limitations, and desire the best-performing and most premium version, then it might be worth considering getting a fully loaded 2023 Model Y.
