It's all in the name of style.

There was a time when manufacturers built SUVs for a single purpose: to transport families and their stuff over rough terrain. These days it would seem that there are more SUVs on the road than any other type of car, and most will never see a dirt road. Land Rover prides itself on building cars that can confidently conquer the great outdoors, and despite the bling image the Land Rover Range Rover has created for itself, these cars are still eminently capable. The most capable of the lot has to be the Land Rover Defender. This car has reached legendary status globally, and original models are fetching massive prices on the restomod scene. The latest generation is as good as it gets, and Heritage Customs from the Netherlands are now claiming to make them even better, at least in the style department.

Named after the natural patina formed when copper is weathered, the Valiance Verdigris was inspired by the original HUE166 Defender and features a special green metallic paint job and 22-inch Space Cowboy forged diamond-cut wheels. Heritage customs also offer interesting colors such as rust, copper, brass, and bronze. Magic Metal satin copper was used as the finish for the exterior details like the Defender lettering on the nose and the fender vents, contrasting with the green paint.

“Those seeking for something truly unique, like this particular client, can commission a specially built Valiance under the Heritage Customs Carchitecture program and will be invited to determine their very own metal type alloy-mix – and even its finish in either gloss, brush or oxidation!” says Jan-Pieter Kroezen, co-owner of Heritage Customs.

The entire interior of this Defender was customized, starting with entirely new beige leather upholstery and a plush beige Alcantara headliner. Contrast stitching on the seats and leather trim is featured in green. The same Magic Metal satin copper finish applied to the exterior details is carried over to the interior, where you'll find the finish on the center console, steering wheel spokes, and on the heads of each of the 100 satin copper bolts in the door cards. We can't say we're fans of the color choices, but Niels van Roij, co-owner and the designer behind the revived Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brake, approves, and he's vastly more qualified than we are.

Heritage Customs offers a number of limited edition packages, all of which cost $28,960 excluding the cost of the car, or you could just go for the wheels at $1,240 a set.
