No more power but a bunch of upgrades.

Nissan quietly revealed a special edition GT-R overnight in Japan. The new T-spec edition will feature two new colors and a range of updated features. This is not a brand-new model, but rather another update for the R35 Nissan, which has been kicking around the US for more than a decade.

The GT-R T-spec gets the wider front fenders from the Track Edition special, along with gold-painted Rays forged aluminum wheels and a carbon fiber spoiler. Add to that body-colored mirrors, black hood ducts and special badging. Bringing the T-spec to a halt are the carbon ceramic brakes usually fitted to the Nismo.

But the huge deal here are the colors, Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. Jade was originally offered on the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nur, one of the rarest of Skylines ever created. Only 718 of those were produced in total, with just 156 wearing the color.

The new purple is a “modern interpretation of the Midnight Purple III from the R34 V-Spec. That version was limited to just 132 units. The jade looks good, but the purple reminds us of Ford's old Mystichrome Mustangs that changed color in the light. And since everything '90s is coming back, why not?

The new model also includes a special Mori Green interior option, with semi-aniline leather pearl suede accents, special badges and an Alcantara headliner. From the pictures, we’d say it looks a little classier, a little more old school sports car than anything we’ve seen from Nissan before.

The special model will continue with the company’s VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 making 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque. That’s the standard amount, as the Nismo version, also still on sale, bumps that to 600 hp and 481 lb-ft. All GT-Rs come with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.

The new T-spec GT-R goes on sale this winter for $138,490.
