Ola Electric, an India-based electric vehicle (EV) and ride-hailing company, announced Tuesday that its EV sales up 2.5 times year on year during Navratri & Dussehra to about 24,000 units in October.

Ola Electric said in a statement that the company dominated the EV category with a market share of almost 35 percent.

The firm expects the sales momentum to continue throughout the festive season with an uptick in volumes during the upcoming months.

“The festive season has been incredible for EVs and we have seen a strong uptick in sales during Navratri and Dussehra,” said Anshul Khandelwal, its Chief Marketing Officer.

According to him, the ongoing Ola Bharat EV Fest with exciting festive offers and a much broader portfolio of Ola scooters has led to Ola becoming the favorite choice for customers during the festive season.

“With Diwali round the corner, we expect the sales momentum to further build up, leading to a milestone year for EVs in India,” he added.

During the month, Ola Electric achieved yet another remarkable milestone selling more than 200,000 electric scooters within ten months of 2023, becoming the first ever EV company in India to achieve the feat.

The company has registered over 100 percent growth vis-a-vis last year when it recorded 1 lakh sales in just ten months of starting its operations.

“This is a very strong start to the festive season by the Ola Electric team. Our sales grew almost 30 percent in October over September,

“The Futurefactory (two-wheeler factory) is running at full speed and everyone working more than 70 hours to fulfil all the demand. 2023 is set to be a defining year for EVs in India,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric Chief Executive Officer.
