Only one lady driver. Less than 50 miles on the clock. Eye-watering price tag.

To celebrate the year Ferruccio Lamborghini would have turned 100, the manufacturer named after him created the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4. The creation was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show with a list price of $1,900,000. That figure seems pitiful compared to what these cars are selling for these days, as we shall illustrate shortly with the example you see here up for sale with an eye-watering price tag.

Lamborghini only made 40, made up of 20 roadsters and 20 coupes. The Centenario made its local debut at Pebble Beach in 2016, and the first US customer car (a roadster) arrived a year later.

The $1.9 million price seemed a bit steep, but Lamborghini made it unique. It was based on the Aventador SV, but it boasted some radical aerodynamic features. The additional aero created 500 pounds of downforce at 174 mph.

As the numbers next to the Centenario's name suggest, it produces more power than the standard SV. In this car, the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 produced 759 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. The claimed 0-62 mph time was 2.8 seconds, and Lambo said it could do 217 mph.

With such a limited production run, customers could specify whatever they wanted. This led to quite a few hits and misses. A stunning black and red example that sold via auction last year fetched $2.7 million, but we're not quite sure about the Verde Bronte model sold in Hong Kong.

Now, another red and black example is up for sale, this time in Germany via mobile.de, and it's carrying a price tag of $5.5 million.

The Rosso Efesto roadster in question is going for $5,585,146, to be exact. This particular example only has 68 km on the clock, which works out to 42.5 miles, and was first registered in May 2018.

As far as color combinations go, this is one of the best examples we've seen so far. The red metallic body contrasts beautifully with the black alloy wheels and naked carbon fiber. The interior is upholstered in Nero Ade and Rosso Alala with matching red stitching and a bi-color steering wheel. It has a full carbon fiber package, too.

Still, we can't help but feel sorry for this car. With less than 50 miles on it, the first owner likely drove it to a storage facility, where it has been hidden until now.

Let's hope the new owner puts a few more miles on it.
