Philippine-based live-streaming startup Kumu has roped in a former executive of Indonesian tech giant Gojek to be its chief product officer, while Credit Suisse has named a new leader for its private banking team for Thailand and Vietnam.

Ex-Gojek growth leader joins PH startup Kumu

Crystal Widjaja, former chief of staff and SVP of Growth at Indonesian ride-hailing giant Gojek has joined Philippine-based live-streaming startup Kumu as its chief product officer.

Kumu made the announcement as it raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its Series B round co-anchored by ByteDance shareholder SIG and Singapore-headquartered venture capital firm Openspace Ventures.

Widjaja joined Gojek as its first technical data hire and helped grow the company from a Series B startup to a decacorn. As SVP of Growth and Business Intelligence, she led the team of engineers, analysts, and product managers responsible for growing from 30,000 to over 5 million orders per day.

Widjaja is the latest in a line of senior leaders to join Kumu. Last month, the company also announced the appointment of its chief growth officer Alex Tshering, former SVP of FIGS. Mark Velasquez, former director at ING Philippines and vice president at Credit Suisse, also joined in April as Kumu’s CFO.

Credit Suisse names team leader for Thailand, Vietnam

Global investment bank Credit Suisse announced the appointment of Tammy Tan as its new private banking team leader for Thailand and Vietnam.

Tan, who was recently an investment consulting team head for the two markets at the bank, will be reporting to Marcus Sloor, market group head for the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, according to reports.

Credit Suisse has been making numerous key leadership appointments recently, growing from within, including appointing Lock Keng Cheong as the new Market Group Head Greater China in Singapore; Dominique Boer as the new Market Group Head Singapore; and Alois Müller, Credit Suisse’s Head of Global Private Equity, who will be taking on the additional newly created role as Head of Private & Alternative Markets Asia-Pacific.
