In this photo illustration, news about Elon Musk’s bid to takeover Twitter is tweeted on April 25, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois. It was announced today that Twitter has accepted a $44 billion bid from Musk to acquire the company.

The social media’s CEO confirmed this detail via his official tweet, which has now been deleted.

In a leaked email message, the billionaire said to Twitter employees that some staff will be terminated.

Because of this, various staff of the social media platform shared their concerns. Some of them are even trying to sue the tech CEO due to a lack of advance notice.

Now, it seems like the billionaire is not firing employees over tweets.

Twitter Employee Who Fact-Checks Elon Musk Now Fired

According to 9To5Mac’s latest report, the issue started after a Twitter employee decided to fact-check the billionaire.

The Twitter logo is displayed on the exterior of Twitter headquarters on October 26, 2022 in San Francisco, California. Elon Musk has reportedly visited Twitter headquarters in San Francisco ahead of the Friday deadline to complete his $44 billion deal to purchase the social media company.

Eric Frohnhoefer was the staff who corrected the billionaire. It all started when Elon posted a tweet to apologize for the slow performance of Twitter.

“App is doing >1000 poorly batched RPCs just to render a home timeline!” said the Twitter CEO.

Frohnhoefer said that her statement about Elon was incorrect. After that, the billionaire asked him what was the correct number.

He also questioned the employee regarding the efforts they made to solve the issue.

“First it’s bloated with features that get little usage. Second, we have accumulated years of tech debt as we have traded velocity and features over perf. Third, we spend a lot of time waiting for network responses,” said Eric.

Then, another Twitter user said that the staff should have emailed the CEO or messaged him on Slack instead of publicly correcting the billionaire.

Elon simply replied that Frohnhoefer has been terminated. Although his tweet was deleted, some users were able to save screenshots, such as the one below.

Was Frohnhoefer Really Terminated?

Engadget reported that the Twitter employee didn’t receive any update regarding the termination.

But, Eric said that after his issue with the billionaire, his laptop suddenly shut off.

Because of his experience, Fohnhoefer said that it is not hard to trust anyone in the company ever since Elon Musk took over.

Aside from terminations, Twitter is also facing other problems.

Recently, experts claimed that a Twitter bankruptcy could happen as early as 2023.

Twitter scammers are also increasing in numbers due to the Blue Tick subscription feature.
