Xiaomi has finally launched the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones in China. The latest flagship smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The successor of last year’s Xiaomi 12 Pro offers a 50MP triple-rear camera setup and supports 120W fast charging. The Xiaomi 13 offers a flat display panel with a flat-edge design. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a curved display panel similar to its predecessor. Let us take a closer look at the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro price, specifications, and features.
Xiaomi 13 Series: Price and Availability
The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones will be available for purchase in four configurations – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are available for pre-order in China and will be available for purchase starting December 14 in China. There is no word on Xiaomi 13 series global availability yet. Xiaomi 13 Series: Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones feature E6 AMOLED display panels that support 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1900 nits peak brightness, and are compatible with Dolby Vision content. The vanilla variant features a 6.36-inch display panel with a Full HD+ resolution. Whereas, the Pro variant offers a 6.73-inch LTPO display with a Quad HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 13 series handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that is manufactured on a 4nm fabrication process. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 brings with it an integrated Adreno 740 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The latest Xiaomi flagships boot the company’s proprietary MIUI 14 out of the box. The MIUI 14 for Xiaomi 13 series smartphones is based on Android 13.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a triple-rear camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor with 1-inch sensor size and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 115° field of view, and a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS support and 3.2x optical zoom. The Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, features a 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom and OIS. The latest Xiaomi flagships rely on 32MP front shooters for video calls and video calls.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is backed by a 4820mAh battery and 120W fast charging support. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 comes equipped with a 4500mAh battery unit and supports 67W fast charging. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones also support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. These smartphones make use of Type-C port for charging and data transfer. However, similar to Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi has once again skipped the 3.5mm audio jack.
The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones will be available for purchase in four colour options – Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, Ceramic Green, and Mountain Blue. There is also a Xiaomi 13 Limited Edition which is available in Flame Red, Sapphire Blue, Cement Gray, Hurricane Yellow, and Jungle Green colour options. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones come equipped with stereo speaker setup and are IP68 rated.
